Tagore Peace Award-2018 (2019)
On 5th October 2019, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received ‘Tagore Peace Award 2018’ in New Delhi. The Asiatic Society is honoured to confer the ‘Tagore Peace Award” 2018″ to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her contribution towards human understand and peace.
Champion of Skill Development for Youth (2019)
On 26th September 2019, The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) conferred the award ‘Champion of Skill Development for Youth’ to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for Bangladesh’s great success in youth skill development.
Vaccine Hero Award (2019)
On 23rd September, 2019, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has received the prestigious Vaccine Hero award in recognition of Bangladesh’s outstanding success in vaccination to immunise children.
Dr Kalam Smriti International Excellence Award-2019
The award is conferred upon Sheikh Hasina in recognition of her commitment to a close and mutually satisfying India-Bangladesh relations, welfare of her people, particularly women and children, and international peace and cooperation.
Lifetime Contribution for Women Empowerment Award- 2019
Sheikh Hasina won the award for her outstanding contribution to the field of women empowerment as well as her dynamic leadership in South Asian region.
International Achievement Award- 2018
The Inter Press Service News Agency awarded Sheikh Hasina ‘International Achievement Award’ for her exemplary humanitarian response by giving shelter to more than one million Rohingyas.
Special Distinction Award for Outstanding Leadership – 2018
The Global Hope Coalition, a network of three not-for-profit foundations based in New York, gave Sheikh Hasina ‘2018 Special Recognition for Outstanding Leadership Award’ for her ‘Farsighted Leadership’ during the Rohingya crisis.
Global Women Leadership Award- 2018
On 27th April, 2018 Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received the Global Women’s Leadership Award at an annual international gathering of women influencers and opinion leaders in Sydney, Australia. HPM Sheikh Hasina was honoured by the 2018 event for her “outstanding leadership in advancing women education and women entrepreneurs in Bangladesh, Asia and the Asia-pacific region”.
Agent of Change Award- 2016
On 21st September 2016, Global Partnership Forum awarded Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina “Agent of Change Award” for her extraordinary contribution to women empowerment. The premier said the honour is recognition for the women of Bangladesh as they are the true agents of change.
Planet 50-50 Champion- 2016
On 21st September 2016, The UN-Women recognized Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as “Planet 50-50 Champion” for her outstanding contribution in empowering women. UN Women conferred her the award at a high-level reception at the UN Plaza at the UN Headquarters.
Champions of the Earth- 2015
On September 14, 2015, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) declared Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as one of the winners of the ‘Champions Of The Earth’ award in the ‘Policy Leadership’ category. This award is the highest environmental accolade that the United Nations can confer upon outstanding individuals and organizations. UNEP remarks PM Sheikh Hasina as an outstanding leader on the frontline of climate change.
ICT Sustainable Development Award- 2015
On 28th September 2015, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received ICT Sustainable Development Award from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in recognition of her contributions towards harnessing Information Communication and Technologies for Sustainable Development.
South-South Visionary Award- 2014
On 21st November, 2014, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been honored with ‘South South Cooperation Visionary’ Award of United Nations for her contribution in expanding information technology, ensuring healthcare to grassroots level, improvement of society’s distress people through safety net programme and success in poverty alleviation. Sajeeb Wazed , Prime Minister’s Advisor on ICT Affairs, received the award on behalf of her.
Tree of Peace- 2014
On September 08, 2014, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received ‘Tree of Peace’, a memento from UNESCO in recognition of her outstanding contribution to promotion of girls’ and women’s education. Before handing over the memento, the UNESCO director general said: “Her Excellency Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is a strong advocate on world stage in girls and women education, a certain prerequisite for political and economic empowerment.”
Rotary Peace Prize- 2013
In June 8, 2013, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received Rotary Peace Prize from Rotary International at Platinum Jubilee of Rotary International District 3280. It was a recognition of her endeavor to promote peace among communities and across the globe.
UN Award for MDG Achievement- 2013
In June 13, 2013, on behalf of the government of Bangladesh, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been invited by the Director General of UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Jose Graziano da Silva for halving the incidence of hunger well ahead before target year 2015. Health minister Abdur Razzaque received the award on 17th June, 2013 on behalf of Prime Minister.
South-South Award- 2011
September 19, 2011, UN Economic Commission for Africa, Permanent Mission of Antigua and Barbuda to the United Nations, International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and South-South News jointly awarded Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in New York for her innovative idea to use information communication technology for progress of the health of women and children.
UN award for MDG achievement (child mortality)- 2010
On September 19, 2010, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received this Award in New York from United Nations on behalf of the country for reducing child mortality by 50 percent.
Indira Gandhi Peace Prize- 2010
On January 12, 2010, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was awarded Indira Gandhi peace Prize for peace, disarmament and development. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh called Hasina an “outstanding political figure of South Asia” who worked tirelessly for the restoration of democracy in Bangladesh.
Global Alliance of Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI)- 2009
GAVI recognized Bangladesh for best immunization performance among six large populous countries which are eligible for its support this year. Bangladesh has shown leadership in reducing the number of un-immunized children by 52 percent.
Mother Teresa Award- 2006
On June 25, 2006, Sheikh Hasina was conferred Mother Teresa Lifetime Achievement Award for her unmatched contribution in public life. It was instituted by the ‘Mother Teresa International and Millenium Award Committee’ and handed over by the Award Committee Chairman Anthony Arun Biswas.
Pearl S. Buck Award- 2000
On April 9, 2000, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received prestigious Pearl S. Buck Award in recognition of her vision, courage, achievements in political, economic and humanitarian fields by Randolph Macon Women’s College of USA.
CERES Medal- 1999
On 2nd August, 1999, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) had been awarded the prestigious CERES medal to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in recognition to her fight against hunger.
UNESCO’s Felix Houphouet- Boigny Peace Prize- 1998
In 1998, the then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received UNESCO’s Houphouet-Boigny Peace Prize for 1998 for her remarkable contribution to bringing peace through ending the 25 years of conflict in Chittagong Hill Tracts with political courage and statesmanship.
Mother Teresa Award- 1998
On 12th April, 1998, the All-India Peace Council Awarded Sheikh Hasina the Mother Teresa Award.
M K Gandhi Award- 1998
In 1998, the Mahatma M K Gandhi Foundation of Oslo, Norway awarded Sheikh Hasina ‘M K Gandhi Award’ for her contribution towards promotion of communal understanding, non violent religions harmony and growth of democracy at the level of grassroots in Bangladesh.
